Awww man, I love Down By Law. Such a great band. Here's their famous Proclaimers cover from their awesome Punkrockacademyfightsong album . Enjoy!

OMD - Sailing on the Seven Seas
It's Friday Funday at Your Forgotten Favorite, and it doesn't get...uhhh...funner than OMD. Enjoy a classic track off their Sugar Tax album. Enjoy!

SNFU - Reality is a Ride on the Bus
Haven't listened to Canada's SNFU in a while. Must change that. These guys put out some great punk rock in the 90s. Here's a classic off their Something Green & Leafy This Way Comes. Enjoy!

Sick Of It All - Scratch the Surface
I love New York Hard Core and it doesn't get much better than Sick Of It All. I still can't believe that this album came out on Atlantic Records. Enjoy!

G. Love and Special Sauce - Baby's Got Sauce
I first saw G. Love and Special Sauce on the opening night of the 1995 CMJ Music Conference in NYC at this tiny little bar and have been a fan ever since. Here's the song that hooked everyone back in the day. Enjoy!

Orange 9mm - High Speed Changer
Half of the fun of doing this little blog has been rediscovering some of those great bands of yesteryear. Orange 9mm is one of those bands. I actually got to see them play with Downset and The Deftones back in 96 before anyone started uttering the word nu-metal. Anyway, here's a track off their Driver Not Included cd. Enjoy!

Snapcase - Steps
Victory Records used to put out some pretty awesome hardcore records in the 90s. Snapcase, from Buffalo, NY were one my favorite bands on the label. Here's the title track off of their Steps EP. Enjoy!

Avail - Simple Song
I wish I could say that I was so cool that I was listening to Avail from the start. But it wouldn't be true. In fact, I really didn't get into them until 1996 shortly after 4AM Friday was released. It made a big impact. Since that first listen, I seem to find myself gravitating to hardcore bands that share Avail's melodic side. Here's the track that turned my head back in the day. Enjoy!

Concrete Blonde - Ghost of a Texas Ladies Man
I'll be the first to admit, I totally take some bands for granted. Concrete Blonde is one such band. I went almost a decade without even thinking about them. One day a couple years ago I heard their big hit Joey on the radio and proceeded to "upgrade" my Concrete Blonde collection from tape to CD (all via trades on the old Lala.com). I'm glad I did. Such an underrated band. Here's a rousing track off their Walking in London disc. Enjoy!

The Vandals - I Have a Date
Live Fast Diarrhea was my introduction to The Vandals. Such a fun album which I still love to crank up. Here's one of my favorite tracks (it's a Simpletones cover). Enjoy!

Goodness - Wicked Eye
I first heard Goodness on the Schoolhouse Rock! Rocks comp years ago. Shortly after, I purchased their self-titled album from a dollar bin at a local used cd shop. Goodness indeed. Here's a video off that album. Enjoy!

The Promise Ring - Why Did Ever We Meet
I love when I hear a band for the first time and have that "a-ha moment." Hearing The Promise Ring for the first time (live no less) was one such moment. I bought Nothing Feels Good that night and proceeded to play it for everyone I knew (for years). To this day, I still get chills when I hear it (which is often). Here's one of my favorite Promise Ring tracks. Enjoy!

Tripping Daisy - I Got A Girl
I saw Tripping Daisy when they were first starting to gain radio/video momentum in 1995. Even though I was mostly there to see Tracy Bonham (who herself was riding the Alternative Nation buzz with Mother Mother), the guys from Tripping Daisy really impressed me with their brand of alternative psychedelic pop rock. Here's their big hit song for your viewing pleasure. Enjoy!

Descendents - I'm the One
I can't imagine a punk rock world without the Descendents. Their early work is legendary, but I actually spend more time listening to their later, more melodic albums. Here's one of my favorite tracks by them. Enjoy!
