Terror - The Most High

Admittedly, I've been neglecting punk and hardcore lately here at Your New Favorite Song. That ends today (for now at least). Here's L.A. hardcore veterans Terror with the first video off of their latest album Live By The Code.

Patti Griffin (featuring Robert Plant) - Ohio

Patti Griffin released her seventh studio album this week. Here's the video for American Kid's first single, a song she sings with her husband -- apparently he fronted some little known 70s rock band. (I honestly had no idea they were married...how cool is that?) Anyway, I look forward to checking out the rest of American Kid as I've long been a fan of Patti's music.

Pistol Annies - Hush Hush

Hell yeah! I saw the Annies a couple summers ago.
Annie Up kiddies! There's a new Pistol Annies album out today. You know I'm all sorts of psyched to hear new music from Lone Star Annie, Hippie Annie and Holler Annie...otherwise known as Miranda Lambert, Ashley Monroe and Angaleena Presley. If Annie up is even half as great as I'm hearing I'm sure it will be among my top records of the year and could push Ashley, who is also riding a tremendous second solo album (Like A Rose), to the top spot of my 2013 artist of the year countdown (something that happened in 2011 with Miranda's Four The Record and the first Annies album).

Lady Antebellum - Downtown

Lady Antebellum's fourth album Golden comes out tomorrow. The first single Downtown hooked me right away with its groovy goodness (I simply love that bass line). As for the video, well it's pretty darn funny. I mean who doesn't want to get so crazy that they get arrested?

Poster Children - What's Inside The Box

There is absolutely no reason why this song popped into my head this morning. It's not like I came across a box and wondered what's inside of it. Regardless, the Poster Children were one of my favorite indie rock bands of the 90s so they'll make a perfect Friday Flashback.

Matt & Kim - Let's Go

Here's Brooklyn indie-poppers Matt & Kim with a very "Awkward Family Photos" inspired video from their 2012 Lightning album.

David Nail - Let It Rain

You know that the spring/summer concert season is kicking into full gear when I start attending three concerts in the span of a week. Last Thursday it was Aimee Mann/Ted Leo. Saturday it was Craig Morgan/Sarah Darling. And tonight I'm seeing David Nail from a front row table at my local under 300-seat venue. Seeing a performer with a booming voice like David's in a small venue will certainly be a treat. I saw him last summer at the annual Sunday in the Country show at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, MD. Now THAT was a fun day of live country music. The show was headlined by Eric Church and also featured Justin Moore, Thompson Square, Jana Kramer and Craig Campbell.

Here's the video for the song that took David Nail to No. 1 on the country charts in 2011. I suspect he'll be playing this one tonight.
