It's Memorial Day Weekend and I can't think of a better way to celebrate than with Murphy's Law and their ode to the BBQ. Enjoy!

Toad the Wet Sprocket - Fall Down and All I Want
I first discovered Toad the Wet Sprocket in the late 80s on a comp and have been a fan ever since. Happy to see that they are touring again. Saw them last year and am seeing them again tonight! Here's a couple of my favorite tracks by them. Enjoy!

Unrest - Make Out Club and Cath Carroll
I always liked Unrest, but sadly didn't move to the DC area until they had already split up. I would have loved to see them live (and yes, I know they are doing a couple reunion shows). Oh well, still have their tapes and cds. Here's a couple of faves from their Perfect Teeth album.

Superchunk - Driveway to Driveway and Hyper Enough
Superchunk is one of five bands I rotate as my favorite band ever (more times than not, I will answer Superchunk when asked that question). So psyched to hear that they have a new album coming out this year (along with a tour). Here's two of my favorites tracks by them from that magical era known as the 90s. Enjoy!

Belly - Feed the Tree
I've been on the Tanya Donelly bandwagon forever. From the Throwing Muses, to her stint with the Breeders, to the hitmaking years with her band Belly and most recently as a solo artist. I can't get enough of of that sweet voice. Here's the big hit song. Enjoy!

Helmet - Unsung and Biscuits for Smut
One of my biggest regrets in the 90s was never catching Helmet live. In the Meantime and Betty are alternative metal classics. Here's one from each of those albums. Enjoy!

Dinosaur Jr. - The Wagon
While most fans prefer their early SST albums, Green Mind will always be my favorite Dinosaur Jr. album. Here are two of my favorite tracks off the album (Thumb might be my favorite tune by them). Enjoy!

Save Ferris - Come on Eileen
Sometimes I think the world would be a happier place if there were more 90s style ska music. I always enjoyed seeing Save Ferris live. Whether it be a small club or a huge festival the band, along with Monique's infectious vocals, always got the crowd moving. Here's their cover of that Dexy's Midnight Runners song. Enjoy!

The Wonder Stuff - Size of a Cow
I can't imagine anyone hating The Wonder Stuff. Their Never Loved Elvis album is one of my favorites of the era. Truly great pop music. Enjoy!

Semisonic - Singing in My Sleep
While Semisonic is mostly known for their big hit Closing Time, they were more than that one song (which incidentally was about singer Dan Wilson becoming a new dad, and not a bar). Wilson is master at crafting perfect pop songs and here's one of my favorites. Enjoy!

PJ Harvey - Sheela Na Gig
PJ Harvey's Dry album was a serious kick in the pants when it was released. While much of the rage dissipated in her later albums, the passion remains. Here's the song that first kicked my butt. Enjoy!

Madder Rose - Panic On
Madder Rose was such a cool band. I often pop on one of their discs and get lost in the music and Mary Lorson's stunning vocals. Enjoy!
Oh, why not, here's another by Madder Rose.

Screaming Trees - Nearly Lost You
I wonder how many people will watch this video and say, "The Screaming Trees, THAT'S who sang that song." Enjoy!

Luscious Jackson - Daughters of the Kaos
Time to get funky with the ladies in Luscious Jackson. This is off their first ep In Search of Manny. Enjoy!

Porno for Pyros - Pets
Porno for Pyros came along with a lot of hype (and for good reason), but fizzled out after a somewhat disappointing second album (I actually grew to enjoy it as much as the first). Here's the big hit. Enjoy!

Wartime - The Whole Truth
Here's a Forgotten Favorite by the one and only Henry Rollins and his short-lived band Wartime. Gotta love the part of the video where he's spoofing the Madonna video. Enjoy!

Public Image Ltd. - Don't Ask Me
If you ask me, the world needs more John Lydon. So, I'm doing my part. This track is off Public Image Ltd's Greatest Hits So Far album. Enjoy!

Ian McCulloch - Honeydrip
For those who don't know, Ian McCulloch is the singer of the always awesome Echo & the Bunnymen. Here's a track off Ian's second solo disc Mysterio. Enjoy!

Seaweed - Kid Candy
I love when a great song suddenly pops in my head. Kid Candy by Seaweed has been popping in my head for over 15 years now. Hope it gets stuck in your head. Enjoy!

Saint Etienne - Only Love Can Break Your Heart +2
If I was the type to drink coffee on the deck on Sundays while reading the newspaper, Saint Etienne would be my soundtrack for those Sundays. And yes, this is a Neil Young cover. Enjoy!
Oh hell, I'm feeling nice, here are some bonus tracks by Saint Etienne.

Soul Asylum - Somebody to Shove
I never stopped loving Soul Asylum (believe it or not, I never even got sick of Black Gold and Runaway Train when they dominated the airwaves). I think I've gone through about 3 versions of Grave Dancer's Union on tape and 2 versions on CD (high praise). One of the best rock bands of the late 80s and 90s. Here's the lesser known first single from Grave Dancer's Union. Enjoy!
